Chasing Hurricanes Across the Southeast

Covering storms, specifically hurricanes, became a passion 10 years ago, when Hurricane Hugo slammed Charleston with 135-mile-per-hour winds. At left, Hurricane Erin strikes Pensacola, Florida. Later that summer, I drove back to Florida and head-on into Hurricane Opal and provided coverage for CBS News and UPI.
